As an Assistan Tax Manager, you will join our Tax Centre of Excellence in Poole. You will be an important part of the Tax Team, able to multitask and prioritise, with great management skills. Your personal tax knowledge will be impeccable, and you will ensure the team delivers all tax returns to clients at a consistently high level whilst meeting targets.
The key responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to:
Completion of Self-Assessment Tax Returns and P11Ds.
Dealing with other personal tax tasks, such as tax advice and HMRC enquiries.
Mentoring, coaching and training team members.
Ensuring a consistently high standard of client service throughout the team.
Ensuring consistently flawless quality and accuracy of both your and your team’s work.
Liaising with Accounts teams to ensure their needs and their clients’ needs are met.
Prioritising and distributing work to the Tax Team.
Monitoring inboxes and ensuring an even workload for the Tax Team.
Ensuring all team deadlines are adhered to and there is sufficient staff cover.
Organising and supporting the ongoing training needs of the Tax Team.
Working on operational improvement projects.
Handling escalated complaints.
Reviewing work completed by team members.
Experience of working within a fast-paced Tax team or general accountancy practice.
Experienced at completing complex personal returns.
Confident setting and working to targets.
Highly organised and able to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Able to delegate while ensuring high standards are met by the team.
Proficient working with tax and accountancy systems, as well as Excel.
Strong numeracy skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adept at coaching and training others.
Innovative thinker, always looking for better ways to do things.
Ideally, experience working with contractor clients and/or Construction Industry Scheme workers.
Tax or accountancy qualification or qualified through experience.
Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Thrives working under pressure and can motivate others to do so.
