As an Assistant Team Manager, you will be aligned with SJD Accountancy, which is one of the UK’s largest specialist providers of fixed fee, limited company accountancy services to contractors and freelancers.

You’ll primarily be responsible for managing a small portfolio of personal clients effectively and efficiently while ensuring that the service we provide achieves the company and client expectations. You will work alongside a Senior Team Manager to develop staff and drive employee performance to achieve the highest standards possible.

 

Key responsibilities include but aren’t limited too:

Team Support:

Support the team, and Team Manager, to continuously deliver the agreed level of service

Coordination and management of team joiners and leavers

Coordination and management of team complaints

Ensure the team operates in line with the company customer promise

Training, coaching and mentoring of colleagues

Meet internal SLAs & statutory deadlines for VAT, payroll, statutory accounts and complaints

Support in growing the business through team referrals for new clients

Work with Team Managers nationally where required on projects/ tasks as set

Work with Senior Accountants to achieve business quality outputs

Supporting team members with more complex accounting scenarios

 

Personal Expectations:

The completion of year-end accounts, CT600, and Corporation Tax computations

Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients

Offers bespoke accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice through 8-month reviews

Advising clients in relation to IR35 and the associated implications of this legislation

Manage the client relationship whilst building a strong rapport and developing client loyalty

 

Skills and Experience:

Experience within an accountancy practice is highly preferable

Qualified or studying towards ATT

Holds leadership experience and attributes

Knowledge of IRIS software packages is preferable

Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Accuracy & attention to detail

Good time management and organisation skills

Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally

Professional and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to adapt to change
