As a Statutory Accountant, you will be aligned with SJD Accountancy, who is one of the UK’s largest specialist providers of fixed fee, limited company accountancy services to contractors and freelancers. You’ll be primarily responsible for the completion of statutory accounts by agreed deadlines. This will allow you to develop your knowledge of accountancy and tax issues building upon your qualifications and experience

 

The key responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of statutory accounts from trial balance under IFRS and UK GAAP

Preparation of CT600 and Corporation Tax computations

Accounts prepared in line with the company quality framework

Completion and review of client bookkeeping records

Meet statutory deadlines for Statutory Accounts and Company Tax Returns

Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients

Assist in the practical interpretation of the effects of legislative changes, and business changes, upon reporting requirements

Offer bespoke accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice

Respond to client enquiries in line with the company promise

Online submission of documents to Companies House and HMRC

Support the teams to continuously deliver the agreed level of service

To undertake any other duties as requested by your line manager within the scope of the role

 

Person Specification

AAT qualified / ACCA part qualified. Qualified by experience will also be considered

Experience of completing accounts autonomously and accurately

Experience of working within practice

Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with great attention to detail

Knowledge of IRIS software packages and online bookkeeping software is desirable
